"Tailler"
What cavity do the gouges have?
The inner radius is approximately half the width. Small deviations, however, cannot be avoided with hand forged tools.
How is the chisel used?
Depending on the task you want to accomplish with the chisel, you can handle such a chisel differently. When working with a flat-guided chisel, it can be used either with the chamfer pointing upwards or with the chamfer pointing downwards. The bevel upwards has the advantage that the chisel does not pull itself into the wood, so you can work very precisely. However, if a lot of material is to be removed, take the iron with the bevel downwards so that it is drawn diagonally into the wood to be removed.
Grate on the 2-Cut
As the 2-Cut is only covered with an oil film, and not with a corrosion protection varnish like the chisel, rust can occur depending on humidity and use. The steel is tool steel and not stainless steel. So it is normal that this steel starts to rust even in a "dry" climate. For this reason, the 2-Cut as well as all tools should be cleaned with an oily cloth after use to ensure that the tool is covered with an oil film.
